Be Your Own Leader

If you’re reading this, you’re probably constantly on the lookout for new ways to effectively lead your team.

You most likely worked through some challenges this past year as your company adopted a ‘hybrid work-style’

Getting your remote team aligned with your on prem resources undoubtably had its challenges.

How will you up your game and leadership skills to do better?

I believe the answer lies with asking yourself the question:

“If I was going to lead myself, how would I do it?”

This approach leads to more questions:

  • How would you communicate next quarter’s goals and objectives?
  • Would you schedule a face-to-face meeting or set the new targets via email?
  • How would motivate yourself to achieve the new milestones?
  • Would you inspire confidence? How?
  • Would next year’s the goals be based on last year’s performance or an arbitrary percentage increase over last years achievements?
  • How would you define success?
  • What would be the rewards for hitting these targets?
  • What would be the repercussions of missing the mark?
  • What kind of support would you provide if you weren’t tracking to plan during the first quarter?

Take the time to ask yourself these questions as you plan for the year ahead. I suspect you may surprise yourself.
